No they usually don’t run a credit report, but they do run your ssn thru a verification system, like chexsystems

For me, it depends mostly what kind of that debt and whether my partner is able to solve his financial problems or not. I wouldn’t necessarily run away from someone with debt, but he needs to show me how he will solve his debts. I definitely will not marry a man with unsolvable debts.

I went to both companies listed above, ing and citi and BOTH require a deposit from an existing checking account.

I need to open a checking account. Would they run a credit report (i have no credit). this would be my first account ever opened. What is it that they are going to do and what are reasons why i wouldn’t be approved for a checking account? Im thinking of Chase Bank and Bank of America. Please help!

you have to have ID like a state issued ID card or drivers license & social security card. Don’t be put off if the personal banker has a bunch of forms for you, since by law every new account holder is screened to see if they show up on the OFAC list (Office of Foreign Asset Control). This is in order to help fight terrorism by denying terrorists the ability to launder money.
